An attack comes at your shield from the top, right, bottom or left. Block that side before it reaches you: the ring around it shows the time left. Red ✖ attacks are feints: don't block them, just let them pass for bonus points. Blocks in a row raise your combo. A wrong block, a blocked feint or a missed attack costs a life. You have 3.
